The Waikouaiti Coast Heritage Centre is a high quality regional museum and information centre that is part visitor attraction, part information provider, and part collector and conservator of local heritage items.

Are you related to Johnny Jones or other notable local forebears? Do you have a family connection with Waikouaiti and want to find out more? The Waikouaiti Heritage Centre offers a personalised genealogy research service.

Our genealogy service is in hot demand with people keen to find out about their forbear’s connection to the area.

The Heritage Centre is currently undergoing a major redevelopment project to erect a purpose-built exhibition centre at the rear of its Main Road site.
